Trip to Singapore and KL (PART 1)

HOTELS: in Singapore is rather expensive, if you convert SGD to MYR. (eg: drinking water 500ml @ SGD1.00 OR 1.5ML @ SGD3.60)
We prefer to stay along ORCHARD ROAD, which is the main shopping area. The most reasonable hotels are:
a)GRAND CONTINENTIAL CENTRAL (small room , add a bed if you want) and breakfast provided.
b)SUPREME Hotel, which has 4 to 5 beds room at reasonable price. However, no breakfast and the room look a bit old.
At this time,I am afraid to tell you that HALF OF SINGAPORE is undergoing renovation. Nothing much to see as compare to KL.
FOOD: BREAKFAST or any meals could be found anytime, especially if you are at shopping complexes.
Their FOOD COURTS, are usually at the bottom or top of the shopping complexes, just ask around.
TRANSPORT: In Singapore, 3 ways to go around, which is cheaper than by guided tours ( it could be 30 to 50% cheaper), there are:-
1)By MRT (max per way per person is SGD2.00);
2)By Taxis, only during off-peak period, ie: 9.30am to 5.00 pm)
or else you are to pay extra RM3.00 &/plus 30% of the meter price
best, if you are travelling in agroup of 3 or 4 persons.
3)Use Hub buses, which collect passengers at all major hotels, (SDG4.00 for adult & SGD2.00 for kid per way to most of the sight-seeing places.

We fly to KL (KUALA LUMPUR) on 13 DEC 2008( and spent 3 nights there). that is another story..............
After finishing at the SINGAPORE FLYER, Praise the Lord, we were given free passage back to the hotel by double-decker bus. What a sight to behold, especially at night on the streets of singapore before Christmas .
Inside the SINGAPORE FLYER.
This is the famous SINGAPORE FLYER. Bad luck for tourist who went after us, as there was a fire which short-curcuited the system. Many tourists were stucked inside for quite a number of hours.
These photos were taken at the BIRD PARK. To get there, use the MRT and at the end of the trip, to take another bus no 194. There are a numbers of feeding shows. Ask at the counter, for the feeding times and you could enjoy more (ie: main show, eagle feeding & penguin feeding shows)

One of the photos taken at the underwater sea world.
Going to SANTOSA ISLAND, use MRT to VIVO city and then take a monorail (inside the Vivo city for SGD3.00 per person) On the Island , the place are service by 3 colours buses, which are free. Remember to collect your map, as you could decide where to go . Most interesting locations, you need to pay if you want to go inside. Here is the feeding dolpines show@ 3.00pm (sorry, the dolpines have not come out yet, ha, ha) and this show are grouped together with underwater sea show under one ticket. Rather expensive shows. We felt that the underwater sea world in KL is better.
Another interesting place to see at Santosa Island is "SOUND OF THE SEA", a performance not to be missed. Start at 7.30 pm or 8.30pm (2 shows per day). Special effects with sounds and lightings, etc)
In Singapore, there are few places for sight-seeing, one of them is Night Safari. Special price for Malaysian (ie: 2 adult at special price and 2 kids free). Remember to bring your passports along.
BONGO is at the entrance and we have our dinner there.

Landed at Johore Baharu
THE PLANE..........AIRASIA now everyone can fly, ie: that's us.
We flied to JB on 9th Dec 2008 and went over the causeway to Singapore on the same day by private van (cost SGD 65). Stayed in Singapore for 4 nights .

OUR RABBITS

WE HAVE TWO RABBITS. ONE IS CALLED "RED" AND THE OTHER IS CALLED "BLACK".
HOW DO WE DISTINQUISH THEM ? WELL, VERY EASY, BY LOOKING AT THEIR EYES.
"RED" HAS RED EYES WHILE "BLACK" HAS BLACK EYES.

ONE RABBIT IS HIDING HERE.

THE OTHER IS HIDING HERE.

WE HAVE THE RABBITS FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. THEY NEED ATTENTION AND CLEANING. RABBIT'S FOOD AND WATER MUST BE GIVEN TO THEM EVERYDAY.
THE CAGE MUST BE CLEANSED TWICE A WEEK.

RABBIT DOES NOT BITE, HOWEVER BE CAREFUL WITH THEIR NAILS WHEN YOU ARE HOLDING THEM UP. THEIR NAILS ARE SHARP AND WHEN THEY KICK THEIR FEET, THE SHARP NAILS COULD EASILY CUT YOUR HANDS.

YOU COULD SPEND A LOT OF ENJOYABLE TIME WITH THEM. JUST LOOKING AT THEM PLAYING OR FEEDING THEM FOOD IS A GOOD WAY TO RELAX AND GET RID OF STRESS. OR. IF YOU NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE ELSE, THEY ARE THERE....HA! HA!

OUR GARDEN EDEN

GARDEN AROUND THE HOUSE SPEAKS/DEPICTS BEAUTY AND TRANQUILITY.
OURS IS NO DIFFERENT. WE ENJOY OUR GARDEN VERY MUCH. HOWEVER, WE ARE UNABLE TO STOP THE WILD GRASS FROM GROWING FASTER THAN THE BEAUTIFUL PLANTS AND FLOWERS.

OUR WATER FEATURE. RUNNING OR FLOWING OF WATER COULD BE HEARD ALL THE DAYS THROUGH.

MANY HOURS COULD BE SPEND AT THE GARDEN OF EDEN, REFRESHING AND RELAXING. GOD'S GIVEN BEAUTY AROUND US. PRAISE THE LORD.
DROP IN AND ENJOY WITH US. ....HOWEVER, YOU MAY NEED TO HELP TO GET RID OF THE WEEDS, HA! HA!

FAREWELL DINNER FOR LIS's FAMILY

TO SAY FAREWELL TO PEOPLE IS NOT EASY. THIS TIME OUR CARE GROUP'S ASSISTANCE LEADER, LIS, IS GOING TO KUALA LUMPUR TO JOIN HIS FAMILY THERE.
SAD AS IT MAY BE, WE ALL MUST MOVE ON....

THERE WAS A LOT OF DELICIOUS FOOD AT THE DINNER. SOME WISH THAT THEY HAVE TWO STOMACHS TO FULLY ENJOY AND TAKE IN ALL THE GOOD FOOD.

AFTER THE DINNER, MANY SAT AROUND TO SHARE, ESPECIALLY THE MOST EXCITING ONES ARE THOSE SHARED BY EDWARD. YES, IT WAS ABOUT THE SNAKES HE KILLED IN THE GOOD OLD DAYS IN HIS FORMER HOUSE.

MANY OF US JUST LIE BACK AND ENJOYED THE FELLOWSHIP WITH EACH OTHER.

AFTER THE SUMPTUOUS DINNER, THE GATHERING END AROUND 10.30 PM.
THERE IS NO GOOD-BYE . ONLY TEMPORARY SEPARATION. YES, WE WILL SEE THEM.
THEY ARE JUST A FLIGHT AWAY....ZERO AIRFARE WITH AIRASIA, HA! HA!
....EVERYONE CAN FLY.

Our Gawai Dayak Visitation

On 1st June, 2008, our family (MATE) (M= Michael A=Annie T=Timothy E=Esther) with our house-group went to our member's house , IE: LIS'S HOUSE , which is about 28 miles from Kuching. After passing TAPAI area, we turned in and drove for about 5 miles in a winding uneven gravel road. It is rather frightening, as the going looked difficult at times. Thank the Lord , we finally reach our destination and happy to see our friend UNCLE LIS.
Lis's House...Located on the highest point.

Jonathan And His Family.

Birthday Cake. We also celebrated Uncle Lis's birthday as we bought him a cake and a gift.
The cake was delicious and the gift was gratefully accepted. The Gift consisted a pen, a belt and a wallet.

Talking...and having a sumptuous lunch.

The foods consisted curry lamb chop, pan sol (chicken cooked in bamboo), newly harvested rice, fried beehoon. Everybody enjoyed it very very much... I hope that you also enjoy the food! ha! ha!

We left Uncle Lis's House around 12.55p.m. and said farewell to them.We almost cried...we are going to miss them.We pray that the Lord will richly bless them in whatever they DO.
Everybody reached home safely. PRAISE THE LORD.
